Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Auto writers find that the G8 looks aggressive, bold, and powerful -- just like a muscle car should.
- "Pontiac has done very little to visually differentiate the three G8 trim levels, so buyers of the six-cylinder G8 will happily note that their cars have most of the show of the V-8-powered models, even if the 3.6-liter engine provides a good deal less go. We like the aggressive front-end treatment, although the faux ram-air hood nostrils may be a bit much, especially on the V-6 model. The car has a decidedly Pontiac, wide stance - despite the fact that it started life as a Holden - and looks the part of a muscle sedan." -- Automobile Magazine
- "The Pontiac G8 GT - which began life as a Holden Commodore Down Under - wears sheet metal that is simple and straightforward, but stylish nonetheless. Its look is like that of the last-generation Acura TL, but jacked up on steroids. Head on, the split upper and lower grille sections, dual hood vents and bulging front fender flares make for a mean, muscular stance. These same elements, along with the aggressively forward-sloping beltline, definitely give the car a ‘fast" look.' -- Road and Track
- "The 2009 Pontiac G8 makes a powerful but tasteful visual statement, complementing neatly tailored bodywork with prominently flared fenders, a modest decklid spoiler, integrated side sills and functional cooling vents on its hood and front flanks. The face is pure Pontiac, highlighted by projector-beam headlamps, a signature dual-port grille treatment and an equally bold lower air intake." -- Kelley Blue Book
