Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The Vibe's most recent redesign didn't result in a very different exterior, but reviewers do say they prefer the Vibe's look to that of its corporate twin, the Toyota Matrix.
- "The hatchback shape is now comprised of smooth sheetmetal that contrasts with hard creases, which gives the updated five-door a more dynamic look than its predecessor. ... We liked the looks of the Vibe GT quite a bit, and more so than the direction Toyota chose to go with the Matrix and its new styling." -- Autoblog
- "Though the new Vibe continues to share much with the Toyota Matrix, especially under the skin, the exterior differences seem more pronounced than they were with the first-generation models." -- Motor Trend
- "This time, Toyota and Pontiac tried to further separate the two cars visually, and I think Pontiac got the better end of the deal -- I prefer the Vibe's smooth, simple lines to the awkward angles of the Matrix." -- About.com
- "Though Pontiac officials say the sheet metal is all new, it won't be obvious to most people as the vehicle retains the same basic lines of the previous model. But I did immediately notice the more muscular wheel arches of the new car, as well as the more steeply raked windshield -- both nice improvements." -- Dallas Morning News
