Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers admire the Porsche 911's sleek exterior design, which is available in three body styles: the traditional coupe, cabriolet (convertible soft-top) and Targa, which features an electrically operated glass roof. In addition to an automatically deploying rear spoiler, the Carrera 4 and 4S also come without model insignia.

  • "In many ways, the 911 is the automotive equivalent of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, evoking an emotional bond with owners and enthusiasts like few other vehicles can." --Forbes
  • "No modifications have been made to the steel body panels, just minor changes to the front and rear fascias. Updated bixenon headlights now can be ordered with the ability to swivel. A revised front bumper houses en vogue LED daytime running lights and provides significantly better cooling, eliminating the need for a center radiator. The taillights are now pointier at their edges and dip slightly into the bumper fascia, giving the car a somewhat drowsy look from behind. But that's only until they're illuminated, because the sixty LEDs in each taillight are retina-searingly bright." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "As with every Porsche, the monocoque body structure of the Carrera S seems as if it were forged as a single dense molecule. Warren Buffett's vault probably doesn't have a door that feels as substantial as those on a 911; look under the 911 and you'll find welds down there thoracic surgeons would be proud to leave behind as a scar. In a barrier crash test, bet against the barrier." -- Edmunds
