Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2008 Cayenne's exterior revisions were so modest that some say only the trained eyes of Porsche-lovers will notice the differences. But in general, the changes are viewed positively -- reviewers say they create a more sophisticated look that lives up well to the Porsche name.
- "Changes to the surface are subtle at best -- but they won't go unnoticed by Porschephiles. The new Cayenne's face is broader and more sculpted. The front hood has been reshaped by widening the headlights and hood surface, while the rear end has more mass over the rear tires, looking more 911-like from certain angles." -- Motor Trend
- "If you are a fan of the previous-generation Porsche Cayenne, you will like the new model. The changes are subtle, but they make both esthetic and functional sense. For instance, the headlights have been moved to the outside of the front fascia and covered with clear glass, improving looks and offering an aerodynamic benefit." -- Kelley Blue Book
- Reviewing the 2008 Cayenne, Edmunds wrote, "the Porsche Cayenne enters its second generation. Most of the changes are under the skin, and indeed the body shell and interior are mostly untouched. Wider headlights, a reshaped hood and front fenders and a deeper chin spoiler give the 2008 Cayenne a slightly more aggressive stance than last year's model." -- Edmunds
- "Most dramatic is the redesigned front end, which sharpens the Cayenne's visage the same way a facelift might a Hollywood has-been. Other changes include reshaped taillights that appear to have melted into a restyled rear bumper and minor body updates. New wheel designs enhance the look, and every Cayenne now comes with a standard power tailgate." -- Autobytel
