Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2009 Porsche Cayenne has not been crash tested, but its extensive safety equipment, including six standard air bags and hi-tech features, are proof of its soundness. The Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system works with the braking system and sensors to bolster vehicle stability in hazardous road scenarios.

The Cayenne Turbo has standard Dynamic Curve Lights, which turn with the steering wheel for better visibility around corners, and ParkAssist, which uses an acoustic signal and front/rear displays to warn of any obstacles at the front or rear of the vehicle. Both systems are optional on other Cayenne trims. All trims also have the option for a rearview camera.

  • "Antilock disc brakes are standard on the 2009 Porsche Cayenne, as are front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. Stability control is standard as well, and the system now features a rollover sensor. Active bi-xenon headlights and front and rear park assist are standard on the Turbo models and available on all other trims. Ceramic composite brakes are optional on all V8 Cayennes." -- Edmunds
