The '09 Saab 9-5 wagon performs well in federal government crash tests -- earning five out of five stars in front-impacts. In side-impacts, it scores five stars for the driver-side and four for rear-passengers. The 9-5 wagon also earns a four-star rollover rating. In tests conducted by the insurance industry, the 9-5 receives a rating of "good" (the highest possible) in front-impacts and "acceptable" (the second highest possible) in side-impacts. Overall, reviewers appear pleased with its active and passive safety features.
