The Aura's design is good, but not distinctive among other affordable midsize sedans. "Saturn got it almost right," says Car and Driver. "A clean, monochrome body with clipped overhangs and a muscular tire-to-body ratio has a believable Made in Europe stamp."
Reviewers particularly praise the Aura's streamlined body shape. "There's that great-looking skin made of galvanized steel," says Edmunds and U.S. News' Rick Newman says that "elegant curves and clean styling give the Aura a classy look." All Aura models come standard with chrome body side moldings and grille. "In addition to the chrome-bar grille serving as the new face of Saturn, the Aura is distinguished by big, expressive headlamps, a sleek profile with sharply defined fender flares and distinctive LED taillamps," says Kelley Blue Book. "The nicely sculpted front bumper houses tiny fog lamps on the Aura XR," says New Car Test Drive, adding "with big engines and front-wheel drive, the Aura has a requisitely long nose, but thanks to nice tapering of the bumpers, it doesn't look disproportionately front-heavy."
