Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The federal government gives the 2010 Outlook top five-star scores for all seating positions in both frontal and side crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety designated the 2009 model as a "Top Safety Pick" for its good performance in crash tests and standard electronic stability control. An innovative safety feature is Panic Brake Assist, which automatically applies brake pressure when panic braking occurs.

  • "Standard safety features include antilock brakes, rollover-sensing stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and GM's OnStar service." -- Edmunds
  • "The Outlook includes many common safety features and a few rarities in this price range. Side curtain airbags are designed to pre-emptively engage if there's an imminent rollover threat and remain inflated to increase passenger containment during a rollover." -- Cars.com
