Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Hate it or love it, the Smart Fortwo is pretty darn cute. Auto writers have fun whether describing the Smart's passion coupe or the convertible cabriolet trims. In 2009, Smart will come in two new colors -- "rally red" and "gray metallic," which will replace the "light yellow" and "red metallic" colors in the lineup.

Part of the appeal of the Smart brand is the Swatch-like interchangeable body panels available for all trims. The Passion Cabriolet trim has the body panels and a fully automatic convertible top with a glass rear window. The BRABUS coupe and cabriolet Fortwos are available in black on black or silver on silver colors.

  • "Small enough to embrace. (Literally.)" -- New York Times
  • "Many people find the Smart car adorably cute. The charming exterior is unlike anything on the road, defying most preconceptions." -- Edmunds
  • "'It's adorable!' chirped my neighbor. 'Put a tail on it, and it's a mouse!'" -- Seattle Times
  • "I could never figure out if they were laughing at me or with me." -- Orlando Sentinel
  • "It's still hard to look at it and think of it as a car. I'd look at all the vehicles parked on my street and think 'Car, car, car, Smart, car, car.'" -- About.com
  • "It's so small you can park one in the garage -- or do you call it a shed? -- where the lawn mower rests, or two bumper to bumper in one stall." -- Chicago Tribune
