Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The sheetmetal of the 2010 Subaru Legacy divides the press. The car is much larger than its predecessor. Some say Subaru designers have done well with the bulkier dimensions of the 2010 car, while others find it odd or simply underwhelming. You may need to see it in person to know what to think of it.
- "The old Legacy was lean and agile, a sporting alternative to the portlier family cars of its day. The new Legacy seems purposefully heftier, like it tried to join that crowd by way of cladding everything outward. It's a distracting appearance." -- Cars.com
- "Although some styling cues are reminiscent of the previous car, the 2010 Legacy is mostly covered in fresh sheetmetal that is best described as attractive, but not terribly distinctive." -- Gay Wheels
- "Its strongest design statement is made by the squared-off fender arches." -- Car and Driver
- "To compete squarely against all-wheel-drive sedans like the Audi A4 2.0T and BMW 325xi, Subaru has come up with a meaner, more muscular look." -- Edmunds
- "Stylistically, those big upturned ‘hawk eye' headlights take some getting used to, but the sporty bubble flares at all four corners do hint at the all-wheel-drive prowess." -- Road and Track
