Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
While some reviewers deem the redesigned Tribeca's exterior too conservative, the majority find it to be an improvement over its 2007 predecessor, which many reviewers found ugly.
- "The Tribeca was restyled in 2008, so changes for 2009 are limited to a new red paint color. The grille has a chrome upper lining and three horizontal crossbars. As part of that redesign, the Tribeca gained improved visibility with a larger rearview mirror and rear-quarter windows, Subaru says." -- Cars.com
- "While we welcome the enhanced drivability of the Tribeca, we aren't convinced the styling is an improvement -- indeed, there are several among us who sort of liked the funky, boldly different schnoz of the previous model and are unimpressed with the sanded-down version." -- Car and Driver
- "You're unlikely either to buy or reject Tribeca because of the grille, whereas some shoppers rejected the previous one because of the face." -- USA Today
- "The new look isn't really doing the Tribeca any favors, although Toyota and Honda have done quite well without so much as peeking outside the box." -- Edmunds
- "The Tribeca has a bold yet friendly look that Subaru's reputation requires. It's not flashy or frilly; there's nothing to really draw your attention to it. But perhaps it's this subtlety that the Tribeca succeeds with. Not every car owner begs to be noticed." -- Mother Proof
