Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The Suzuki Reno looks good, but lacks emotion. USA Today says, "Styling is distinctive. Not necessarily handsome, but at least not small-car generic."

MSN has similar findings, describing it as "pleasant, though unassuming." Despite this, Car and Driver claims that "Euro-sensitized tastes" will find its exterior body-styling adequate enough to let it "pass." "With its shape sketched by Italian trendsetting Italdesign-Giugiaro, the Reno fits into respectable neighborhoods arguably as well as any PT Cruiser does, and its five-door format provides the kind of versatility our bike-riding, big-box, shopping suburbanites will appreciate without shouting ‘Hatchback!' to the Joneses," says Car and Driver.

Car and Driver also notes that those not accustomed to a "Euro" look "will likely think it's just another quirky-looking import." The Detroit News says its standard multi-reflector headlights look like they're "belonging to an earlier time period." Moreover, MSN says, "The Reno's tires and wheels aren't large enough to help this car make a statement on the road." Nevertheless, the New York Times states, "compared with default choices like the Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, the Reno is better looking and has more features." Some of these features include intermittent wipers, 15-inch steel wheels and wheel-covers, as well as heated power mirrors and a window integrated antenna. The available Reno Convenience Package includes a remote keyless entry system.
