Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 Suzuki SX4 earns good scores from the federal government in crash testing. It earns four out of five stars for driver and front passenger protection in a front end crash tests as well as for rear passenger protection in side impact crash tests. It earns the top score of five stars for front passenger protection in a side impact crash. In rollover testing, both the two- and four-wheel drive models receive four-star ratings, which means they have only a 13 percent chance of rollover in a single vehicle crash.
The insurance industry has not yet had a chance to test the 2010 SX4, but the 2009 model received the top score of “Good” in front and side impact crash testing. In rear crash protection testing it received the much lower score of “Marginal.”
All SX4 models offer a range of safety features as standard, including six airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and a Brake Assist function. An Electronic Stability Program is standard on the GTS Sport sedan and Sportback GTS as well as on all Crossover models, but it’s unavailable even as an option on the other models.
- "Here's where that big greenhouse comes into play, providing excellent sightlines. Small windows in the A-pillar really help with this, and that's something both the SportBack and regular SX4 feature. Also, the SX4 is blessed with very large mirrors. Those mirrors may not be your thing in terms of style, but I laud their utility." -- Cars.com
- "Visibility is good to the rear, but the split front pillars can block the driver's view to the sides at intersections." -- New Car Test Drive
