The 2009 Toyota Corolla reliability score of 8.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Toyota provides a three-year or 36,000 mile basic warranty, and powertrain coverage for the first five years or 60,000 miles. Corrosion protection is also offered for the first five years, regardless of mileage.
Most reviews highlight the Corolla's longstanding reputation for as a durable small car, and the 2007 Corolla received excellent marks for its predicted reliability. According to Consumer Guide, the most commonly reported mechanical issues for previous Corollas range from faulty air/fuel ratio sensors to a tapping noise in the dashboard.
