Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
While some call the FJ Cruiser "cartoonish" and think it's over the top, its daring exterior style generally solicits rave reviews. "Toyota's FJ Cruiser will make a lot of heads swivel with its conspicuous mashing of cute cosmetics and urban grit," writes the Los Angeles Times. The SUV's "suicide doors" have attracted a lot attention -- but they're difficult to use because you have to open the front doors before you open the rear ones.
- "Viewed in profile, the most noticeable aspects of the FJ Cruiser are its upright windshield, tall and protective body sides, short windows and very wide C-pillar on either side of the cargo area." -- New Car Test Drive
- "From some angles, you'd swear you were looking at a vintage FJ40 built with modern materials." -- Left Lane News
