Safety - What the Auto Press Says
As mentioned in our Safety Overview, the 2008 Toyota Highlander gets excellent safety ratings from the federal government, which gives it a top score of five stars for driver safety in frontal crash tests and a four-star score for passenger safety. It also gets five-star scores for front and rear seat protection in side crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the 2008 Highlander a top score of "Good" in frontal offset and side impact tests as well as a "Top Safety Pick" designation.
