Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2010 Toyota Sienna offers a good range of safety features, including front, front side, and side curtain airbags. It receives high marks in government crash tests, getting four of five and five of five stars for driver and front passenger protection, respectively, in front impact tests, and five of five stars for front and rear seat passenger protection in side-impact testing. The very similar 2009 Sienna also performed well in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, earning a rating of "Good" (the highest possible) in both front and side impact crashes. However, IIHS gives it a rating of "Poor" for rear impact crashes.

  • "The lengthy list of safety gear helps make the Sienna one of the most appealing family conveyances on the road." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "To help keep the driver's eyes on the road, all Sienna models come equipped with a small conversation mirror which allows a look into the rear seat without the driver turning his or her head." -- Edmunds
  • "The lengthy list of safety gear helps make the Sienna one of the most appealing family conveyances on the road. Although with standard ABS and dual front airbags, the stripped-down LE model is by no means remarkable, the costlier models can be had with traction control, stability control, tire-pressure monitoring, run-flat tires, and practically enough side and side curtain airbags to allow the van to float." -- Automobile Magazine
