Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The Tundra does well in government crash tests and is recognized as one of the Insurance Institute's "Top Safety Picks" for 2009.

In government crash tests, the 2009 Tundra earned four out of five stars for both the driver and front passenger in frontal crashes. The Tundra only gets a three-star rollover rating with two-wheel drive, but earns a four-star rollover rating with all-wheel drive. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the 2009 Tundra a "Good" rating, the highest possible, for both frontal offset and side impact tests, and recognizes the Tundra as a Top Safety Pick for good performance in front, side and rear crash tests.
