Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The federal government has not crash-tested an EOS, but the the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2009 edition of this car a "Top Safety Pick" among convertibles. It earned the Institute's top score, "Good," in frontal- and side-impact crash tests.

The Eos comes standard with four-wheel antilock brakes (with brake assist), traction control and stability control. Front, side-impact and side-head-curtain airbags are standard as well. The side curtains explode upward from the doors, in order to function properly even with the top down, and they are tall enough to function for almost any size passenger. Roll bars pop up automatically if a rollover is detected.
