Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2009 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen receives strong safety scores. NHTSA gives it four out of five stars in frontal-impacts and five out of five stars in side collisions. The SportWagen gets a four-star rollover rating. Meanwhile, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the Jetta Sedan and Wagon the "Top Safety Pick" designation for 2009, meaning the car earned the highest possible scores in all Institute tests and offers standard stability control.

The SportWagen comes with a host of standard safety equipment, including driver and passenger front and side airbags, driver and passenger rear-impact optimized head restraints, and side curtain protection.
