Best Ford Deals: February 2010 Lease and Purchase

Fresh off the heels of sweeping the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards with the highly-acclaimed Fusion Hybrid and Transit Connect, Ford offers new deals and incentives on most of its 2010 lineup. They may not be as attractive as those offered during last month’s Year End Sales Event -- but there’s still money to be saved.

Kicking off the New Year, Ford offers zero-percent financing rates and a substantial amount of money back on both cash and finance purchases. As usual, active members of the military or a police association can take an additional $500 off the price of a new vehicle. Best of all, Ford’s deals don’t expire until March 31, so you can take your time and avoid making any costly car-buying mistakes.

Meticulous shoppers can save even more with a little research and negotiation. Because the auto industry hasn’t fully recovered from the sales slump it experienced in 2009, dealers may be willing to compromise on the price of a new car -- but only if you make them with a reasonable offer.

Also, don’t forget to compare car deals just as you would rival vehicles. Take, for instance, the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Ford is offering the F-150 at 7.9 percent financing for 72 months plus $500 cash back. Meanwhile, Chevy is financing the similarly-priced Silverado for zero percent for the same period. A quick crunch of the numbers reveals that shoppers who choose the Silverado over the F-150 will save $75 each month in car payments.
