Best Honda Deals: November 2009 Lease and Purchase

This November, Honda offers lease and purchase deals on some its most popular 2010 models, including the Pilot SUV and Odyssey minivan. These deals are good through early January, so you have nearly two months to take advantage of them.

The most exciting deal continues to be a lease on the all-new 2010 Honda Insight hybrid. The Insight’s futuristic good looks, cool graphics and 42 mpg combined fuel economy make it a worthy competitor for the Toyota Prius. With a base price under $20,000, it’s the cheapest hybrid on the market. Best of all, you can now lease the new Insight for just $199 per month for 36 months -- that’s cheaper than some people’s electric bills! Toyota isn’t currently running a deal on the Prius, so the Insight might be your best bet for a discounted hybrid vehicle.

If you’re interested in a new car, now is the time to act. Americans aren’t yet buying cars in pre-recession numbers, but October sales figures show the industry is moving out of the red. That means the future will hold less incentives for consumers. This latest wave of discounts probably won’t be nearly as good as those that might be offered down the road.

One way to save money is to buy a 2009 model. Many 2010s are essentially identical to their 2009 counterparts, and dealers are anxious to sell off the 2009s in order to make way for the 2010s on their lots. This means you could snag a great discount just by negotiating with a dealer. But don’t wait -- with every passing day, the auto industry picks up more steam, which means this may not be a buyer’s market for too long.
