Porsche recalls 2010-2011 Porsche 911
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Porsche is recalling 1,702 Porsche 911 models that have “interlocking hub and wheel assemblies” because the hubs can wear down prematurely. If this occurs, the wheels could loosen.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS, GT3, GT3 RS, Turbo and Turbo S models affected by the recall are from the 2010 and 2011 model years, and were manufactured between May 18, 2009 and September 17, 2010.
Porsche has not specified when the recall will begin, but dealers will replace the central locking hubs and wheels for free. Porsche’s recall number is AB01, and the automaker can be reached at 1-800-767-7243. Affected owners may also contact NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.safercar.gov.
