Chrysler and Dodge Recall Almost 300,000 Minivans
Chrysler Group, which owns the Chrysler and Dodge brands, announced that they are recalling about 299,718 minivans for malfunctioning airbags. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall summary, a leak in the climate-control system could short out electrical airbag controls, causing the airbag warning light to go on, or possibly causing the airbag to go off without warning. This could cause injury to occupants, or even cause a crash.
This recall applies to the 2008 Chrysler Voyager, 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2008 Chrysler Town & Country vehicles. Chrysler says that dealers will replace the air bag module for free, starting this month.
