Chevrolet TrailBlazer Returns for 2013
Although General Motors hasn’t said if the TrailBlazer will make it stateside, the automaker says that the TrailBlazer will be more versatile, with the “hauling and towing capability of an SUV with the ride comfort and efficiency of a crossover.”
Car and Driver predicts that the TrailBlazer will go on sale in the U.S. “We know at least two of its markets: It will go on sale in early 2012 in Thailand after debuting at next month’s Dubai auto show,” says Car and Driver. “Even though GM hasn’t yet said it will sell the new TrailBlazer here, we expect that to change: An American-spec Colorado was confirmed earlier this week.”
The publication adds that reviving the TrailBlazer makes sense. The Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia are available, but “towing and hauling aren’t really Equinox strengths,” writes Car and Driver. An all-new TrailBlazer, however, fills that gap. “This could keep shoppers in Chevy showrooms who need more utility but for whom the king-size Tahoe and Suburban are too big.”
However, after speaking with Chevrolet officials, Inside Line says the TrailBlazer won’t come to the U.S., but we won’t know for sure until General Motors makes an official announcement.
