Nissan, Infiniti and GM Recall Models

The 2010 and 2011 Cadillac SRX are facing a recall because they could roll away.

Nissan/Infiniti and GM are recalling about 23,500 vehicles.

2010 to 2011 Cadillac SRX

General Motors is recalling about 8,800 Cadillac SRX models from the 2010 and 2011 model years because they could roll away. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the transmission shift cable on these models “was improperly installed and may come out of the transmission bracket.”

If the cable isn’t attached properly, the shifter, which is attached to the transmission, won’t work properly. The shifter could, for example, indicate that the SRX is in park when it is not. Then the compact SUV could roll away and cause a crash.

The recall begins in January 2012, and GM will make necessary repairs for free.

Infiniti FX, Infiniti M, Nissan Frontier, Nissan NV, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Xterra

Nissan and its luxury brand Infiniti are recalling the following models, which have a problem that could cause the engine to stop working: 2011 Infiniti FX, 2012 Infiniti M, 2011-2012 Nissan Frontier, 2011-2012 Nissan Xterra, 2011-2012 Nissan Pathfinder, 2012 Nissan NVNHTSA says “some of the bolts that connect the engine oil cooler and the engine oil filter to the engine… may have been manufactured to below specification strength.” If that’s the case, the bolt attached to the oil filter could break and cause a leak, which would cause the engine oil pressure to decrease and “the engine to seize, increasing the risk of a crash.”

Nissan/Infiniti will replace the bolts for free. The recall will begin in January 2012.
