FIAT to Introduce Wagon Model
FIAT is planning to sell a wagon model similar to its 500 small car. Oliver Francois, head of the FIAT brand, confirmed the new five-door vehicle, saying it “will be sold in the U.S. starting next year,” Bloomberg reports.
FIAT hasn’t announced any specs or pricing information yet on the new five-door model, except that it will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, Left Lane News reports.
FIAT currently sells only two models in the U.S., the 2012 FIAT 500 and FIAT 500 Convertible, with a third on the way. The 2012 FIAT 500 Abarth, which is a sportier model with a more powerful engine, is expected to go on sale in late March.
Sales of the FIAT 500 in the U.S. have been disappointing. “Only 26,000 cars were sold, about half the number forecasted by the company,” Bloomberg reports.
