Lincoln to Introduce Next Generation MKZ Concept at Detroit Auto Show
A Lincoln MKZ concept car will debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week, and will be a preview of what the next generation MKZ will look like.
“Ford has promised seven new or significantly modified vehicles for Lincoln by 2014,” the Detroit Free Press reports. “… the MKZ will be the first true all-new vehicle from the team created a year ago to completely overhaul Lincoln's lineup.”
Lincoln hasn’t released any specs or information about the MKZ concept, but it is expected to remain similar to its corporate cousin, the Ford Fusion. The next generation 2013 Fusion will also debut next week in Detroit. “While it will retain the Fusion’s front-biased architecture, Lincoln promises that the next MKZ will be a much more homegrown effort more obviously distinct than the current model,” Left Lane News reports.
A few weeks ago, Lincoln announced it had created a PR and marketing agency to focus on rebuilding the Lincoln brand. “We’re reinventing the Lincoln product and ownership experience and working to make it a unique, compelling proposition for today's luxury customer,” Jim Farley, group vice president, Global Marketing, Ford Motor Company, said in a statement.
