2013 Buick Enclave to be Unveiled at New York Auto Show

Buick will reveal an updated version of its Enclave crossover SUV next month at the New York International Auto Show. While Buick has been fairly tight-lipped about the updates, it did say in a press release that the 2013 Enclave will “include industry-exclusive safety technology and modern design updates.”

So far, Buick has released one darkened teaser image of the new Enclave’s interior. “There isn’t much to glean from the photo, except for the expected infotainment and some cool-looking ambient lighting,” writes Autoblog. Buick says that more information about the specific updates will be made available in the coming weeks.

The reveal of the updated Enclave comes after GMC unveiled its refreshed 2013 Acadia last month at the Chicago Auto Show. The Enclave and the Acadia are built on the same platform, along with the Chevrolet Traverse. We previously reported that GM was designing a new front center airbag that will initially debut on the aforementioned SUVs. The new airbag is designed to prevent the two front seat occupants from hitting each other in the event of a side collision and prevent head, spine and torso injuries. The front center airbag will deploy on the inboard side of the driver’s seat between the driver and front passenger. All 2013 Buick Enclave SUVs will get the airbag standard, and it will come standard on 2013 Acadia and Traverse models with power-adjustable seats.

Buick has yet to announce pricing for the 2013 Enclave or when it will go on sale. The 2012 Enclave starts at $36,600.
