Volkswagen Tops Total Quality Study

A recent study conducted by Strategic Vision concludes that Volkswagen Group of America is the top automaker when it comes to total quality. Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Group also rank highly on this index, which measures how pleased customers are with their new vehicles based on several indicators of quality. EPA Rates 2013 BMX X1 at 34 MPG Highway

According to the EPA, the all-new 2013 BMW X1 averages up to 24/34 mpg city/highway. This fuel economy rating applies to the base X1 sDrive28i, which has a 240-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The xDrive28i comes with the same engine and transmission, but its all-wheel drive lowers its fuel economy ratings to 22/33 mpg. 2013 Buick Encore Rated at 33 MPG Highway

General Motors reports that the EPA has rated the all-new 2013 Buick Encore at 25/33 mpg city/highway. GM points out in a press release that the front-wheel drive Encore earns better fuel economy estimates than affordable compact SUVs like the 2013 Ford Escape and Jeep Compass, which earn up to 23/33 and 22/28 mpg, respectively. Honda Accord Tops List of Most Stolen Vehicles

Shutterstock The National Insurance Crime Bureau released its list of the most stolen vehicles in 2011 last week.
