Toyota Voluntarily Recalls RAV4, Lexus HS 250h
In a press release, Toyota says that some of the nuts on the rear suspension arm may not have been tightened to the proper torque specification. “If that's the case, excess wear could occur and pave the way for rust and separation, which in turn could cause an accident,” writes Autoblog. The recall includes 2006 to early 2011 RAV4 models and 2010 model year HS 250h models.
A fix for the problem is currently being developed by Toyota. Once ready, the automaker says it will contact owners of affected vehicles by mail to set up an appointment to come in to the dealership and have the repairs made free of charge. For more information, RAV4 owners can visit www.toyota.com/recall or call 1-800-331-4331. HS 250h owners can visit www.lexus.com/recall or call 1-800-255-3987.
