Labor Day weekend is a great time to get a good deal on a new car. If you can pull yourself away from your barbecue or pool for a little while this holiday weekend, you’ll find a good number of low interest rate purchase deals, lease deals and cash back offers. Plus, with new 2014 models hitting showroom floors, dealers are trying to clear out their 2013 inventory. Chevrolet, Buick and GMC are offering an extra $500 in cash on most 2013 models through Sept. 3. The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is available with a total of $3,000 in cash incentives when you add in the $500 bonus cash. The 2013 Buick Verano can be purchased at 0.9 percent for five years, plus $500 bonus cash. The 2013 GMC Terrain also has $500 bonus cash, and can be purchased with zero percent financing for four years.

Ford is offering buyers $1,000 in what it calls “matching down bonus cash,” which car shoppers can use to lower the price of their new Ford. The extra $1,000 is available through Sept. 3 on the 2013 Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Taurus, C-Max, Edge, Escape, Explorer, F-150 and Super Duty. The 2014 Ford Mustang is also included in this offer.

Nissan is also promoting up to $1,000 holiday bonus cash this Labor Day weekend, which buyers can use along with Nissan’s current lease and purchase offers through Sept. 3. This $1,000 deal is available on the 2013 Nissan Maxima, Murano, Altima, Frontier and Juke. A cash offer of $500 is good on the 2013 Nissan Rogue, Pathfinder and Sentra.

[New Car Financing and Cash Back Offers for August 2013]   

Hyundai added a few new deals for the holiday weekend. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport can be leased for $269 a month for three years with $3,199 due at signing. It can also be purchased at 3.49 percent up to five years or 4.49 percent for six years, plus $1,000 bonus cash. Many other Hyundai vehicles are available with zero to 3.9 percent financing, or low monthly payment lease deals.

Although some automakers don’t have specific Labor Day weekend car deals on top of their current new car incentives, there are still plenty of good deals that can help you save money.
