Honda Recalls 344,000 Odyssey Minivans for Brake Issues

Honda Odyssey Honda is recalling 344,000 Odysseys from the 2007 and 2008 model years because of a problem with the stability control system (which Honda calls Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA)) that can cause sudden, hard braking, without the driver pressing on the brake pedal. The brake lights will not illuminate during this event, increasing the risk of a rear-end crash. Defying Government Shutdown, October Auto Sales are Strong

A 16-day government shutdown did not deter consumers from buying cars, as automakers are posting sales gains for the month of October. Kelley Blue Book expects overall October auto sales to be up about 12 percent compared with last year. Kelley Blue Book Senior Analyst Alec Gutierrez says October vehicle sales were led by strong demand for SUVs and trucks.
