BMW Recalls 2012 3-Series, Issues Stop Sale

BMW is recalling some 2012 3-Series models due to front-seat head restraints that fall short of federal safety standards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the affected 3-Series “have front seat head restraints that exceed the downward movement limit of 25mm in the highest position.” As a result, the head restraint could lower slightly in a collision when it’s fully extended, which could increase the risk of injury. BMW X1 to Make US Debut at New York Auto Show

BMW Announces New Engine and Pricing for 2013 X3

The BMW X3 xDrive28i sport utility vehicle is getting a new engine for the 2013 model year that BMW says will increase the model’s fuel economy. EPA Rates 2012 BMW 328i at 36 MPG Highway

The 2011 BMW 328i sedan features a six-cylinder engine, but for 2012, BMW swapped in a smaller, turbocharged four-cylinder engine in an effort to improve fuel economy.
