BMW Recalls More Than 500,000 Cars
BMW has issued a voluntary recall of more than a half million 1-Series, 3-Series and Z4 models from the 2007 to 2012 model years. BMW says the cars could suffer engine stalling as a result of the loss of electrical power.
The New York Times reports, "The automaker says the problem is caused by the wear and tear on the cable to the battery, which is located in the trunk. That could cause the engine to suddenly shut down."

Hyundai Makes Throttle Override Devices Standard on All Models
Hyundai is now equipping all of its vehicles with a brake pedal electronic throttle override system. In a press release, the automaker says that any U.S. vehicle produced in May 2012 or later will come standard with the system, which is designed to keep drivers and passengers safe in the event of unintended acceleration.
