GM Recalling 193,652 Midsize SUVs

General Motors is recalling 193,652 SUVs over concern that a short circuit could cause a fire. The recall affects 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender SUVs, as well as 2006 Trailblazer EXT and Envoy XL models. GM Recalls 250,000 SUVs for Fire Risk

General Motors has announced a recall of 249,260 SUVs because a faulty electrical system in the driver’s door could cause a fire. The recall includes the 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer and GMC Envoy, and some models of the Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender from the same model years. NHTSA Investigates More Toyota Models for Fire Hazard

In February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began investigating Toyota Camry sedans and RAV4 crossovers from the 2007 model year after owner reports of door fires. Government Investigates Fires in Chevrolet Trailblazers, Subaru Recalls 2012 Legacy and Outback

The federal government has opened an investigation into Chevrolet Trailblazer SUVs from the 2006 and 2007 model years for a potential fire hazard. Chevrolet TrailBlazer Returns for 2013

The Chevrolet TrailBlazer retired in 2008, but the SUV will return for the 2013 model year with a Chevrolet Colorado platform.
