Latest 2013 Models Shine in Safety Tests

Over 40 new and redesigned cars, trucks and SUVs are being introduced for the 2013 model year. That's more than 15 percent of the 2013 new car market. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety have begun testing these vehicles, and many perform well in crash tests. IIHS Announces Four New Top Safety Picks

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety announced Thursday that the 2013 Ford Escape, Acura ILX, Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S earned the organization’s Top Safety Pick accolade. BMW 3-Series, Acura RDX Given IIHS Top Safety Pick Status

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named the redesigned 2012 BMW 3-Series midsize sedan and 2013 Acura RDX crossover SUV Top Safety Picks.
