Chrysler Group has agreed to honor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s request to recall Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty SUVs, but only after NHTSA cut the number of affected Jeeps from 2.7 million to 1.56 million. Chrysler Denies NHTSA's Request to Recall 2.7 Million Jeep Vehicles

Chrysler Recalls More Than 300,000 Jeep and Ram Vehicles in U.S.

2010 Jeep Commander Chrysler is recalling about 295,000 Jeep Commanders and Grand Cherokees in the United States for software issues that affect the transmission, as well as approximately 5,330 Jeep Wranglers to install a dust shield and 498 Ram 1500s for windshield defrosting and defogging problems. The largest recall concerns 2006-2009 Jeep Commanders and 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Nearly 745,000 Grand Cherokee, Liberty SUVs Recalled for Defective Airbags

Last Week, Chrysler Group announced that it will recall about 745,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty SUVs because of faulty airbags. The recall applies to 2002 to 2004 Grand Cherokee and 2002 to 2003 Liberty models. Investigation into Jeep Fires Expanded

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has expanded and upgraded its investigation into the cause of fuel tank fires in about 5.1 million Jeep SUVs built between 1993 and 2007. “NHTSA said it has records of 15 fatalities and 46 injuries in crashes that included fuel-tank failures,” reports The Wall Street Journal.
