Chrysler Group Expands Jeep Liberty Recall, Honda Recalls 2012 Civic

Honda and Chrysler Group issued separate recalls this week for the 2012 Civic sedan and 2004 to 2007 Jeep Liberty SUVs. Chrysler Group expanded a recall issued in March, which initially applied to Jeep Liberty models from the 2004 and 2005 model years. Now, 2006 and 2007 Liberty models are included. Chrysler Group Recalls 209,724 Jeep Liberty Models

Chrysler Group is recalling nearly 210,000 Jeep Liberty SUVs from the 2004 and 2005 model years that were sold or are currently registered in certain cold weather states. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these compact SUVs may have rust damage that could cause the rear lower control arm to fracture. Jeep Liberty Investigated for Airbag Malfunction

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has expanded its investigation of Jeep Liberty SUVs for problems with their airbags. According to NHTSA, the problem could affect as many as 386,873 SUVs from model years 2002 and 2003. Jeep Liberty SUVs Investigated for Loss of Control

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Office of Defects Investigation is investigating about 200,000 Jeep Liberty SUVs from the 2004 and 2005 model years for a potential loss of vehicle control. Chrysler Recalls 11,351 Vehicles

Chrysler is recalling 11,351 Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler products for “a missing or incorrectly installed steering column pivot rivet,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports. A missing or poorly installed rivet could cause the driver to lose control of the car, which increases the risk of an accident.
