Ford Fuel Economy Ratings Decreased on Six Vehicles

2014 Fusion Hybrid Ford announced that it is downgrading fuel economy ratings on the 2013-14 C-Max Energi, C-Max Hybrid, Fusion Energi, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, as well as 2014 Ford Fiesta models that have the base four-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission or the optional EcoBoost three-cylinder engine. Ford to Offer Free MPG Boost to 2013 Hybrid Owners

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid Ford will begin offering a free software update in August to improve the fuel economy of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Rated at Class-Leading 45 MPG

Last week, Lincoln announced that the redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid received an EPA-certified 45/45 mpg city/highway, topping the fuel economy of all other midsize luxury hybrids. 2013 Lincoln MKZ Pricing Revealed

Lincoln announced this week that the redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ will start at $35,925, not including $875 for delivery charges, when it hits dealerships this fall. This represents a $1,170 increase over the 2012 model. Pricing for upper trims, V6 and all-wheel drive models has yet to be announced. Things to Consider if Gas Prices Continue to Increase

Earlier this month, we told you about the prospects of gasoline reaching $4 a gallon this summer, and perhaps even as high as $4.60 in major metropolitan areas. A couple weeks ago, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report listed the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline at $3.48. The average price today is $3.64 a gallon.
