Latest 2013 Models Shine in Safety Tests

Over 40 new and redesigned cars, trucks and SUVs are being introduced for the 2013 model year. That's more than 15 percent of the 2013 new car market. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety have begun testing these vehicles, and many perform well in crash tests. 2013 Mazda CX-5 Named IIHS Top Safety Pick

The 2013 Mazda CX-5, which is an all-new compact crossover vehicle, recently earned top safety scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Because of its exceptional safety scores, the IIHS designated the CX-5 as a Top Safety Pick. Mazda Bringing Diesel Engine to U.S.

Mazda is planning to bring its Skyactiv-D diesel engine to the U.S. in early 2013, but the automaker hasn’t said which vehicle it will be offered in.
