Audi and Mazda Get Diesel
A number of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but some automakers are also previewing diesel models that will hit showroom floors in the not-so-distant future. Mazda CX-9 Will Stop Smiling in 2013
Mazda unveiled a refreshed 2013 CX-9 yesterday ahead of its official debut at the Australian Auto Show next month. One of the most obvious updates is the addition of the company’s now-signature five-point grill, which is also found on the upcoming 2013 Mazda 6 and the CX-5.

Hyundai Makes Throttle Override Devices Standard on All Models
Hyundai is now equipping all of its vehicles with a brake pedal electronic throttle override system. In a press release, the automaker says that any U.S. vehicle produced in May 2012 or later will come standard with the system, which is designed to keep drivers and passengers safe in the event of unintended acceleration.

Vehicles equipped with diesel engines are becoming more popular as American consumers are looking for more fuel-efficient vehicles, and maybe aren’t thrilled with the prospect of buying an electric or hybrid car.
