Nissan Teases Five Redesigned Models
Nissan had some big news last week. The automaker revealed the upcoming 2013 Altima at the New York International Auto Show, but Nissan also plans to introduce four other cars and SUVs in the next 15 months, which will likely include a redesigned Versa, Pathfinder, Rogue and Sentra. Consumer Reports Rates Three Updated Small Cars Highly
The 2012 Kia Rio, Chevrolet Sonic and Hyundai Accent receive high ratings in road tests from Consumer Reports because they show “improvements in performance, equipment levels, and comfort.” The organization applauds these three all-new or redesigned affordable small cars because they break the stereotype that subcompact cars are cheap vehicles with uncomfortable rides and poor performance.

Small Cars Earn Top Safety Ratings
The 2012 Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra earned the highest overall safety rating of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In addition, the 2012 Nissan Versa was recently named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Toyota Vehicles Investigated for Fire Risk, Nissan Recalls Versas for Faulty Shifters
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into Toyota Camry sedans and RAV4 crossovers from the 2007 model year after owner reports of door fires. This investigation will determine whether Toyota needs to issue a recall. NHTSA has also determined that about 36,000 2012 Nissan Versas need to be recalled for problems with their gear shifters.
