Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid Earns Higher MPGe Rating than Fusion Energi, Prius Plug-in and Volt
Honda has announced pricing on the 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid, which is on sale now in California and New York. Starting at $40,570 (including a $790 destination charge), the Accord Plug-in Hybrid is more expensive than competitors like the 2013 Chevrolet Volt and Ford Fusion Energi, which start at $39,995 and $39,495, respectively, after destination fees. Lexus announced that the redesigned 2013 ES 350 will start at $36,100 (plus an $895 destination fee) when it hits showroom floors next month. Toyota’s luxury brand points out that the new ES 350’s base price is 1.7 percent less than the outgoing 2012 model, which starts at $36,725.

BMW has announced that the 2013 BMW ActiveHybrid 3 will start at $49,300, excluding destination fees. It goes on sale this fall.

Volkswagen announced pricing this week for the diesel-powered 2013 Beetle TDI, which will go on sale in August.
