The Scion FR-S affordable sports car was revealed this week, following the recent unveiling of its twin, the Subaru BRZ, which is mechanically and cosmetically identical except for brand-specific badging and interior trim. The FR-S is a rear-wheel drive sports coupe built jointly by Toyota and Subaru. Subaru Shows Off BRZ Concept at LA Auto Show

We knew the Subaru BRZ concept was coming to the Los Angeles auto show, but yesterday we got our first look at what the rear-wheel drive affordable sports car might look like when it goes into production. Subaru to Add New Turbo and Hybrid Vehicles to its Lineup

Subaru will build several new vehicles in the next few years. The automaker said its goal is to increase fuel economy 30 percent across its lineup by 2015. “New engines and revised transmissions will contribute to two-thirds of the increase, while lightweight body and chassis technology will provide the rest,” Car and Driver reports.
