Mitsubishi unveiled its 2009 Eclipse and convertible Spyder at today's media preview of the Chicago Auto Show. According to Jalopnik, "The upgrades to the new version are largely cosmetic, though they did see fit squeeze an additional two ponies out the power plant." Commenting on the Eclipse's new front end, Winding Road writes, "Both hard and soft-top examples of the 2009 Eclipse get a bold new version of the Mitsubishi grill, one that seems to ape the hulking maw found first on the company's newest Lancer Evo. Mitsubishi describes the front fascia as being 'road-hungry,' which seems entirely appropriate for a treatment that resembles a large voracious fish." The refreshed 2009 Mitsubishi Galant raised less excitement at today's unveiling. Autoblog comments that "unlike our favorable response to the changes made to its Eclipse sibling, we think Mitsu might need to do a hard refresh on the Galant a couple of more times before it looks as handsome as it could." According to Auto123.com, "Four trim levels will be offered -- starting off with the ES, and followed by a 'Sport' designated model with either four or six cylinder power. The range is topped off with the performance-tuned Ralliart model."
