Jeep Aims to Sell Wranglers to Clowns

Cheer up, Chrysler.  Maybe clowns will fall for the $2.99 gas offer.

Edmunds Inside Line reports that a Chrysler/Jeep dealer in Lodz, Poland "managed to pack 32 people into the Wrangler Unlimited's cabin and trunk -- and it has the photos to prove it, including one depicting a blue-jeaned leg sticking through the vehicle's window."  The feat made the local newspaper, "where we learned the critical bit of information that in Polish, Jeep translates to 'Jeepie.'"

According to New Car Net, "The achievement is set to be recognized by the Polish equivalent of the Guinness Book of Records."

Chrysler, hurting for good news, crowed about the event in a corporate blog.

Autoblog comments, "While thirty-two people in any vehicle is impressive, it pales in comparison to what's been done in the lowly Beetle."  They link to this YouTube video of 70 people packing into a 60's era VW Beetle (injury reports not available at press time).
