Kia Sephia owners in New Jersey, listen up: you may be getting a check in the mail for all those brake pads you've bought.  Kia Sephia owners everywhere else...well, you might want to consider a lawsuit.  It worked in New Jersey.

Kia Motors has been ordered to reimburse owners of 1997-2000 model year Sephia sedans for certain repair costs in a New Jersey court.  Business Week reports, "The lawyers say more than 8,000 car owners ran up large auto repair bills because their brake pads and rotors wore down prematurely and the vehicle warranty failed to cover the costs.  Each car owner would get $750 under the jury verdict, handed down Friday."

Motor Trend notes, "In response, Kia issued a statement saying it was wrongfully accused of failing to honor its warranty agreements and plans to appeal the New Jersey ruling."
