Chrysler has announced the end of its $2.99 gas guarantee. Though the "Let's Refuel America" promotion was largely successful in drawing customers into Chrysler showrooms, the automaker will not offer the gas subsidy in August, instead announcing a series of more conventional incentives.
In a press release, the automaker says it's "recently completed 'Let's Refuel America $2.99 Gas Guarantee' promotion boosted showroom traffic and helped sales of Chrysler's newest highly fuel-efficient vehicles throughout the three-month program period," but offers no specifics.
Kicking Tires reports, " Chrysler has released its new August incentives, and it’s back to the same old, same old: $2,000 on select models when financed through Chrysler, $750 for loyal lessees who can’t get a new lease, and so on."
Autoblog notes, "Chrysler is offering an August-only, 72-month, zero-percent APR financing deal on many of its slow-selling models that aims to make monthly payments approximately the same as a 36-month lease." The automaker has also slashed prices on some vehicles, "with the Ram dropping 40-percent of its MSRP, Aspen hacked by up to 25 percent, Town & Country minivans cut by 24 percent and Grand Cherokees dropping 28 percent."
