Chrysler has finally figured out how this incentive thing works. GM had success with an "Employee Pricing" sale back in November. Then Ford ran an "Employee Pricing Plus" sale in December and January, and sold more cars. With that, lightbulbs clicked on in the heads of the marketing team at Chrysler. If "Employee Pricing" worked and "Employee Pricing Plus" worked...then "Employee Pricing Plus Plus" would be awesome!
We wish we were kidding.
Jalopnik explains, "Chrysler plans to offer customers a new incentive plan they're calling "Employee Pricing Plus Plus." No, seriously, that's what it's called."
If you can look past the ridiculous name, you'll see some serious discounts.
Egmcartech explains, "Chrysler...is offering employee pricing on all 2008 and 2009 models. In addition to the employee price, customers will be eligible for cash discounts of up to $3,500 for 2009 models and up to $6,000 on 2008 models. Zero percent financing is available for up to 48 months."
The program kicks off on Monday, and Chrysler promises a heavy rotation of television ads to launch it - so get get used used to the plus plus phrase.
Interestingly, the program appears to apply to nearly everything Chrysler makes. Traditionally, automakers leave their most attractive and/or expensive models out of major incentive programs, so we hadn't expected to see the new Dodge Challenger, or even the endangered Dodge Viper supercar, included. But in a press release announcing the program, Chrysler says "The Dodge Sprinter is not included in this program," and that's it - no other exclusions.
Chrysler might be the only carmaker stuttering, but they're not the only one offering attractive discounts on cars in this market. Research the best car deals with U.S. News' car rankings and reviews.
